Help Heckrodt Thrive for the Next 75 Years! image

This past year brought an exciting discovery at Heckrodt Wetland Reserve: the endangered Rusty Patched Bumble Bee was spotted right here on our trails. Once common across the Midwest, this species has declined dramaticallly, but its presence at Heckrodt is proof that our habitat management efforts are making a difference.

Adding to this hopeful sign, we reached a historic agreement. In August, Heckrodt signed a 75-year lease extension with the City of Menasha. This remarkable milestone means that our Reserve, and the wildlife and community it serves, will continue to flourish well into the future.

But our work doesn't stop there.

Your year-end gift makes all of this possible. With your support, we can:

  • Restore and manage wetlands, prairies, and forests
  • Protect critical habitats for endangered and threatened species, like the Rusty Patch Bumble Bee.
  • Deliver hands-on education programs that connect children and families with their natural world.

Will you join us in making your gift today?

With Gratitude,

Heckrodt Wetland Reserve Team
